Description
Habit:
Tall scandent climber 15–20 m long; flowering stems solid, slightly woody, softly yellowish tomentose.
Leaves:
Leaves orbicular or broadly ovate, 10–15 cm diam., base cordate, towards apex abruptly acuminate, the acumen subfiliform, upper side soft, underside very softly yellowish-villose, basal lobes semiorbicular, closely approaching, the sinus acute; basal nerves 7, secondary pairs 6, finer nerves transverse, parallel; petiole 5 cm long, softly and more densely tomentose.
Inflorescences:
Inflorescence axillary, pedunculate, corymboid, several-flowered; peduncle robust, 12–15 cm long, softly yellow-tomentose, branches 3–7, tomentose, 2-bracteate at apex; bracts long-filiform, base dilate, tomentose; bracteoles similar but base scarcely dilated; pedicels stout, 10–15 mm, tomentose.
Flowers:
Flower sepals broadly ovate-obtuse, up to 18 mm long, 12–15 mm wide, outside tomentose, yellow-brown, apex mucronate, inner slightly smaller, subglabrous; corolla campanulate, white, 6 cm long, 4–5 cm wide, outside sericeous, limb lobes inconspicuous, mucronulate; stamens ciliate to the corolla base, filaments 7 mm long, decurrent above and below insertion, dilated and longer than the 5 mm long elliptical anthers; pistil glabrous, ovary obtuse, 2-celled, scarcely attenuate into style, style filiform, 2 cm, stigma capitates, biglobose.
