Habit:
Liana or voluble herbs. Pubescence ferruginous or tawny, trichomes simple.
Leaves:
Simple, ovate with mucronate and acute to acuminate apex, cordate to truncate base; petiolate, trichomes simple;
Inflorescences:
Capitate cymes with many flowers; peduncles equalling or exceeding the leaves; bracts sepaloid, equalling or exceeding the sepals, abaxially densely long-villose, adaxially glabrous
Flowers:
Flowers sessile or very small pedicelles, odourless, 2-bracteoles similar to the bracts; Sepals unequal in lenght, ovate or oblong, apex rounded to acute or acuminate, the indumenta like the bracts and bracteoles. Corolla infundibuliform, not lobed, white to pale lavender, 25-30 mm diam., interplicae densely pubescent outside; stamens subequal, included, the filaments inserted near the base of corolla and the adnate portion glandular pubescent; anthers oblongs, introrse, slight curved after dehiscence. Gynoecium 2 carpelled, 4-ovules, 2 per locule, anatropous, ovary ovoid, glabrous; style 1, exceeding the stamens, stigmatics lobes 2, subglobose, contiguous.

Capsules ovoid, loculicidal, glabrous, 4 valved, the septum persistent, 4 seeds,
Seeds:
Seeds ellipsoidal and trigonous 2-4mm, glabrous, smooth, embryo lati-longiplicate, surrounded by the persistent endosperm.
