Description

Habit: 
Branched perennial; stems prostrate, up to 1 m long, radiating from a woody rootstock, sparsely to densely covered with yellowish, erect bristly hairs.
Leaves: 
Lamina palmately 5–7-lobed to about 2/3 or more of its length, kidney-shaped in outline, 2–6.5 x 2.3–9 cm; glabrescent or pilose, more so on the prominent veins beneath; lobes elliptic, obovate or oblong, up to 3 x 4 cm; irregularly and shallowly to deeply pinnately lobed and also acutely dentate; apex acute to emarginate, ending in a short mucron; base cordate; petiole 0.5–1.5 cm long, pilose.
Inflorescences: 
1(–3)-flowered, in lax cyme; peduncle 7–50mm long, pilose; pedicels 2–5(–15) mm long, pilose; bracts 3–6mm long.
Flowers: 
Sepals pilose; outer shorter, ovate-elliptic to circular, 8–10 x 6 mm, apex acute, mucronate or blunt, inner ones longer, more lanceolate, 11–18 x 6–7 mm. Corolla pale-yellow with purple- brown centre, 30–35 mm long, conspicuously lobed; lobes triangular, 5–7 x 7–12 mm.
