A taxonomic study of Merremia (Convolvulaceae) from Venezuela was performed with the help of DELTA
software, indicating new contributions for the genus. Dry samples from Venezuelan herbaria were reviewed, confirming the presence of 12 species of Merremia in Venezuela. Two identification keys were constructed, one considering only vegetative characters and the other grouping vegetative and reproductive characters. Detailed species descriptions are provided. Specimens were georeferenced to determine species distribution maps and new distribution reports for states are shown.
