NE India, N Myanmar, SW China, N Thailand and Vietnam (Map); probably also in Laos, but no collections seen.
Open
situations in evergreen forests, scrub jungles, thickets, along riverbanks and
roadsides and at the margin of cultivated areas. Often on rich, calcareous
soils; between 380–1800 m elevation.
