Habit:
Prostrate perennial herbs, with indumentum of glandular hairs; stems rooting at the nodes.
Leaves:
Leaves entire to distinctly palmately lobed, with spinose-dentate margins, petiolate.
Inflorescences:
Flowers 1-3 in axillary pedunculate bracteate cymes.
Flowers:
Sepals rather thin and scarious, the outer 3 larger than the inner 2. Corolla reddish, pinkish or yellowish with darker centre, densely pilose outside. Ovary 1-celled, pilose, with 4 ovules; style filliform; stigmas 2, globose.
Pollen:
Smooth, 15-panto-aperturate.
Fruits:
Capsule globose, indehiscent, membranous, 1-seeded, pubescent.
Seeds:
Seed globose, hairy.
