Abstract:

The paper deals with the morphology, ecology, anatomy and palynology of Ipomoea wolcottiana J. N. Rose, a Mexican morning glory found as an introduced ornamental tree in Allahabad, Banaras and Lucknow (India). The taxon has two linear cylindrical stigmas like those in Rivea. Additional cambia in root and stem are abnormal in position and activity. Spines of the pollen are sharply pointed at the apex and bulbous at the base.
