Abstract:

A preliminary taxonomic study is given for the genus Ipomoea in Peru. To date 32 species are known from actual study of the herbaria and living plants in the country. Seven other species possibly will be found since they occur in nearby countries. Each species has a brief description and some ecological and distributional comments. The most important papers from the literature are cited to bring the references to date.
