Description

Habit: 
Stems erect or ascending, simple or slightly branched, softly tomentose or villose, with rust-coloured hairs, as well as the foliage and inflorescences.
Leaves: 
Leaves oblong or lanceolate, 2½-5 by ½-l cm, or the upper ones smaller, narrowed at the base, obtuse or acute at the apex; petiole very short.
Inflorescences: 
Peduncles mostly shorter than the leaves, 1-3-flowered. Pedicels short, 1-4 mm. Bracts minute, subulate.
Flowers: 
Outer sepals ovate-lanceolate, ca 7-10 mm long, rather acute, softly villose or nearly glabrous; inner ones a little shorter. Corolla campanulate, ca 2 cm long, pink. Stigmatic lobes broadly ovate, recurved.
Fruits: 
Capsule 6-8-valved.
Seeds: 
Seeds glabrous.
