Abstract:

Description and illustration of Bonamia tsivory Deroin, a new species discovered in the Special Reserve of Manongarivo (Madagascar). Its comparison with the five other Malagasy species recognized in the genus suggests a peculiar speciation pattern by hybridization, along the eastern mountainous ridge, between two lowland paleotropical species: Bonamia spectabilis (Choisy) Hallier f. and Bonamia semidigyna (Roxb.) Hallier f.
